Wedding in Blue Hill Maine

Anne and Hannes' day was picture perfect at Anne's family home on the ocean in Blue Hill, Maine. I don't think I have ever seen a more beautiful location with blue ocean all around.  Anne was my kind of bride, not too fearful of moving about in her dress, etc. Maybe a little too adventuresome for my comfort, she walked out on the mud flats at low tide, with her dress and shoes on, for couples shots. It was slippery on the rocks and I really thought she was going to fall in at times! This was all BEFORE the ceremony. Hannes on the other hand was a little less aggressive. Hannes (from Germany) was more conservative in his approach and careful of his leather shoes from Italy :)  After the ceremony, the bridal party cruised in a local fishing boat up to the little village of Blue Hill, to the Arbor-vine Restaurant for reception. It was truly a delightful evening with wines paired with the most amazing food courses. It was "hands down" the BEST meal we have ever had in our career as wedding photographers. The Old Maine Cape with  Latin jazz band playing in the back ground was an atmospheric dream. Love, love, love it.

Wedding at Hope Hobbs Gazebo and Coastal House in Wells, Maine

Nikki  was such a cutie! Very friendly. The type of person you feel relaxed with right away. She looked absolutely adorable on her wedding day (what bride doesn't, really?!).  I always have a favorite thing about what a bride is wearing, or how her hair looks, or make-up, etc.  For Nikki it was her hair! Oh my gosh, what an up-do and her bangs perfectly shaped her face.  Her head-piece added just the right amount of bling.  Another VERY tender touch to her attire was the photo of her Dad that she carried with her all day, attached to her flowers.

SO, Nikki and Nate were married on a perfectly clear, warm, but not humid, Maine summer day.  A rare day in Maine! Perfect!  They said their "I do's" at Hope Hobbs Gazebo in Wells. Very nice option if you are planning an out-door ceremony in southern, Maine. They did a unique thing during their wedding ceremony. They put some very special items (including some letters to each other, I believe) into a beautiful box, and then nailed it shut. They will open it again on their first year anniversary. Cool!

York Trolley service (they are always wonderful!) did all the shuttling around from hotel to ceremony, then on to reception. In between the ceremony and reception, Nikki and Nate's very generous friends took them for a ride in their boat over to Drakes Island and back. I've got to say, that special things like this, make our job seem easy and so much fun! Good call, Nate! It provided a nice relaxing getaway for the couple for a few minutes to catch some more intimate shots.  Love these! I hope you do also, Nikki and Nate.

The wait staff at Coastal House are all so nice:) This always makes everyone's evening pleasurable including vendors. We get to eat also, so if the food is good and the staff is friendly, we notice. Thanks Coastal House!   The Music Man (DJ) was on the premises to liven up the party.

Nikki, if you would like to share the names of your hair stylist, florist, and the baker who did your cake, please post in the comment section. I'm sure other brides would love to have this info.
